Bay Haven Hosts Wedding on Campus
Date: 2021/03/26Each year for the past 20 years, the kindergarten Bay Haven Bobcats celebrate a very special event—the wedding of Q and U. “This is a silly, fanciful, wonderful way to teach students the spelling pattern of "qu" in a way that is truly memorable,” said Kindergarten Teacher Carrie Bascetta. “The wedding reinforces the idea that every time we write a word with a "q" in kindergarten, we always follow q with a ‘u.’”
Just like an actual wedding, the Bay Haven celebration consists of an officiant and a wedding party. This year Chief Education Officer Larry Bolinger served as the officiant. The wedding party included Queen, Quiet Quilt, Quarter, Quarterback, Question Mark, and Quest Adventurer. Kindergarteners dressed in their very best wedding attire. A reception followed the ceremony with tea cakes, cookies, and juice.
